Marriott International has signed an agreement with UAE-based real estate developer, Three Musketeers Hospitality (TMH), to open a Le Méridien property in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.

Le Méridien Al Marjan Island Resort and Spa will feature 350 keys and open by 2026.

The beachfront property located on Al Marjan Island will feature seven food and beverage venues and a range of recreational facilities including a fitness centre, swimming pool, spa and kids’ club.

It will also include brand signatures such as Le Meridien Hub which is Marriott describes as its “modern reinterpretation” of the traditional hotel lobby space.

The resort’s developers, Three Musketeers Hospitality, is a wholly owned subsidiary of UAE-based Plus Holding Limited (PHL) founded by Jaideep Halwasiya, Surendra Bagri and Hari Tibrewala.

Ajay Kumar Halwasiya, managing director, Three Musketeers Hospitality, said: “Le Méridien Al Marjan Island Resort and Spa will be the first greenfield Marriott International hotel in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. We see ample growth opportunities in the emirate’s rapidly booming tourism sector, and the experiential offerings that the European-born brand is renowned for, will complement the expectations of the adventure and leisure guests on Al Marjan Island.”

Abdulla Abdouli, chief executive officer of Marjan, added: “The growing portfolio of bold and ambitious integrated projects on the island are redefining waterfront living in the UAE and attracting more investments into the emirate. Marriott International’s new Le Méridien Al Marjan Island Resort and Spa is a natural fit on Al Marjan Island, which continues to grow its hotel inventory.”

One of the biggest upcoming hospitality projects in Ras Al Khaimah is the Wynn Al Marjan Island. Set to welcome its first guests in 2027, the resort is also Wynn’s first-ever beachfront resort. Wynn, a US-listed developer and luxury resort operator, said that the estimated cost of this project is approximately US$3.9 billion. It will feature approximately 1,500 keys which will be a mix of rooms, suites and villas.

Last year, Ras Al Khaimah recorded its highest-ever annual visitor numbers, with over 1.13 million overnight arrivals, an increase of 15.6 per cent over 2021.
